Working with folders
Before starting to add flows, language objects or entities to a solution at least one folder needs to exist in the Solution Explorer as the before-mentioned objects all live within folders in Teneo Studio and it is not possible to create either of them without first selecting the folder in which they should live.
To create a new folder, follow the below steps:
- Select the path in the Solution Explorer
- Click the Folder button in the top ribbon
- Give the folder a name and press Enter.
Note that if another folder is currently selected, the new folder will be added as a sub-folder below the selected folder. To add a folder at top-level, click anywhere in the empty area of the Solution Explorer, e.g. below the list of folders to change the focus, and then click Folder in the top ribbon.
When the folder has been added to the Solution Explorer, the name field of the folder will be in edit mode, and the user can give the folder a name.
The name of a folder can be updated at any time by simply selecting the folder and clicking Rename in the Edit area of the top ribbon. Alternatively, the user can select the folder and press F2 on the keyboard.
To move one folder from one location to another in the Solution Explorer, select the folder to move, click Cut in the top ribbon, select the folder under which it should be placed and select Paste. Alternatively, it is possible to drag and drop the folder.
Note that to locate a folder at the top level of the folder hierarchy, it is only possible to use drag and drop, and drop the folder in the white or empty area of the Solution Explorer.
To copy a folder in the Solution Explorer, simply select the folder and click Copy in the top ribbon. Next, select the folder under which the copied folder should be placed and click Paste.
To delete a folder in the Solution Explorer view, simply select the folder and click Delete in the Edit area of the top ribbon. Alternatively, select the folder and click Delete on the keyboard.
If the selected folder is empty, Teneo Studio will prompt with a message for the user to confirm the deletion of the folder. If the folder is not empty, Teneo Studio will prompt with a warning message, asking if the user prefers to Disable contents or go ahead and Delete this folder and all its contents.
Please note that Teneo Studio doesn't offer a Recycle bin, so before deleting any objects do make sure that these objects are really not needed anymore.
